This endowed scholarship is offered in honour of the late Professor George Wade, a respected plant pathologist who established the School of Agricultural Science at the University of Tasmania in 1962. His 19-year leadership largely shaped the school as it is today.

A gift from Professor Wade provided the nucleus for the award, along with generous gifts from the Wade family, friends, colleagues, industry and the University of Tasmania Foundation.

The Professor George Wade Scholarship in Agricultural Science will continue his legacy in inspiring talented students of Agricultural Science.
