Once towering underwater forests, Tasmania’s giant kelp has almost disappeared—more than 95% lost due to a combination of ocean warming, changing nutrient levels, and overgrazing by sea urchins.
These ecosystems support a diverse community of marine life, but without action, they could be lost forever.
At the University of Tasmania, researchers are pioneering restoration techniques to rebuild these super productive forest habitats. Your donation will directly fund research and hands-on efforts to revive kelp forests and protect the species that depend on them.
Donate today to help restore our underwater forests and safeguard our oceans.
