An endowed fund has been established by the Banks Family in memory of Dr Maxwell R Banks AM, esteemed faculty member at the University of Tasmania Department of Geology from 1947 to 1990.

This scholarship is for the benefit of students and academic research in the discipline of Earth Sciences at the University of Tasmania, with a particular focus on geology.
